New Journal Entry, New Life

Wed Feb 18, 2009, 1:54 PM
I'm moving on and moving out as soon as I can. I can't say much as, unfortunately, any idiot with half a brain could find this and tie it to me. But things are happening in my life and things will get better.

Unfortunately, I won't have much to say except motivational stuff up until later. Simply because, well, I work too much to have a terribly interesting day.

For example, the only thing worth mentioning today was that I didn't end up having to facilitate the stupid distance learning thing in work today. Hate doing that - it's dull as hell. I have to sit through a physical therapy class and I don't get credit for it. And it isn't in my job description, either. I just kinda browse the internet on my iPod <3. Love that thing, by the way. The iPod Touch was an amazing present and I adore it. Admittedly, I only use it for browsing online =P. The apps are also cool, but the best ones are always free. Kotoba, WEDict, FUCKING STANZA!!! (most awesome app ever), etc. I also finally got the zottd gameboy emulator working on my Touch. It's sexy =P. I like playing retro games from my youth. They bring back SUCH good memories. And some of them are so creative with so little to work with! Storyline wise, I mean. You can only technically fit in so much text into the game, so most of the old games relied on self insertion, to a degree. Oddly enough, this is established through minimal character development (which aids the minimal text thing). You start to feel for the characters and put yourself in their places. So when you see "six mana remaining in this world" (Final Fantasy Legend II), you go "FUCK YOU WORLD! I'm getting those damned mana thingers!" <333. It's awesome and unique.

Also, I'm currently reading: An Evil Guest by Gene Wolfe. Wolfe, in case none of you have heard of him, is a brilliant writer. His rhetoric is flawless and his syntactical prowess is rivaled only by his... Sexy man chest? Shit - I just wiki'd his picture. I totally take that statement back. Anyway, the guy is an incredibly good writer, but he got kinda screwed by Tor on this book methinks. I don't think the editing on this book was nearly as awesome as on, say, Latro in the Mist. Either that or they edited heavily so as to be readable by the layman. Either way, it isn't up to his standards. Good book so far, though. Only like half way done since work is never dead enough to actually give me more than like five minutes to read >_<. I'll get it done soon though, definitely after the oscars.
